Francesca Currie is a professional fine artist based in Worcester, Worcestershire, known for her atmospheric still life paintings, figurative work and portraiture. Working primarily in oils, Francesca creates original paintings that explore light, colour, texture and the quiet beauty of everyday objects.

Her still life paintings range from carefully composed arrangements of flowers, fruit and objects to more atmospheric and contemporary studies. Through considered composition and subtle use of light, Francesca creates paintings with a strong sense of atmosphere and depth.

Her work has been exhibited across the UK, including in London, Stratford-upon-Avon, Broadway and York. In 2017 Francesca became an Associate of the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists (RBSA) and, in 2018, was elected as a full member, becoming the society’s youngest full member at the time.

Alongside her still life and fine art practice, Francesca is an accomplished portrait artist, undertaking private and public portrait commissions throughout the UK. Her commissions have included work for the Budworth family, owners of The Lady magazine, the charity SENSE, the Bishop of Worcester, Dr John Inge, and Frank Southam, Sword Bearer of Worcester.

In 2021, Francesca appeared on Sky Arts’ Portrait Artist of the Year, where she had the opportunity to paint broadcaster Sir Trevor McDonald. In 2023 she was invited by art writer and curator Ruth Millington to exhibit at the London Art Fair as part of the curated exhibition Reframing the Muse, accompanying Millington’s book Muse, published by Penguin.

Later in 2023, Francesca was commissioned to paint Amanda Holden for the Sky HISTORY programme Sex: A Bonkers History.
