Ric James was born in the United Kingdom during 1947. Ric is a Sculptor, painter and carpenter. Ric’s work is incredibly diverse in nature due to the multiple mediums he uses to express his work, from subject to the use of materials.
Ric was invited to join ‘Who’s who in art’ as well as exhibiting globally. Ric had sculpture exhibitions in England and USA resulting in clients from Europe, Australia, Japan, Canada and Brazil.
Many of his subjects are based in reality. His figurative sculpture in origin, is derived from still life. Ric based his work off of either memories with his family or still life models. The nude studies can often have a feeling of anonymity. This sense of anonymity also reflected into his sculpture work where it becomes difficult to see specific figures faces, for example a ballerina stretching, reaching her feet and covering her face.
