Justin Humphreys – Alpine

Humphreys works from his studio in the Conwy valley, North Wales.

Inspired by a love of design and a passion for engineering, he produces kinetic, colour changing pieces using interactions of shape and colour.
Inspiration is often found in the natural world and in the colours of the changing seasons, however Humphreys’ passion for all things automotive also often features.

When working, he says he enjoys “allowing the piece, in some ways, to create itself”.
The composition of elements and the blend of colours on differing plains can produce results that he finds fascinating, wonderful and often surprising.
The nature of the process means that each piece is unique and cannot ever be duplicated.
