Denise Dutton is a British figurative sculptor renowned for her expressive bronze sculptures that capture the spirit, character, and movement of both human and animal subjects. Best known for her exceptional equestrian works, Dutton combines a deep understanding of anatomy with a profound sensitivity to form, creating sculptures that convey vitality, grace, and emotional presence.

Following a foundation course at Cambridge College of Art and Technology, Dutton studied figurative sculpture at the prestigious Sir Henry Doulton School of Sculpture in Stoke-on-Trent. Her training included specialist studies of equine anatomy at veterinary schools in London and Cambridge, further informing her distinctive approach to sculpting horses and other animals.

Working from extensive observation, drawing, and modelling, Dutton creates both intimate limited-edition bronzes and major public commissions. Her sculptures are celebrated for their technical excellence and their ability to capture the essence and individuality of each subject.

Among her notable public works are the bronze statue of palaeontologist Mary Anning in Lyme Regis, the Annie Kenney suffragette monument in Oldham, the Women’s Land Army and Lumber Jills Memorial at the National Memorial Arboretum, and contributions to the iconic Fine Lady on a White Horse sculpture in Banbury.

Based in Staffordshire, Denise Dutton continues to produce highly sought-after sculptures for collectors, galleries, and public commissions throughout the United Kingdom, bringing her enduring passion for sculpture, wildlife, and the natural world to every work she creates.
